LAMBDA peristaltic dosing pumps for automated pH control (pH-stat) by controlled addition of acid, base or buffers.

pH regulation using LAMBDA peristaltic dosing pumps

LAMBDA laboratory peristaltic pumps for automated pH control (pH-stat)

The most commonly used LAMBDA acid and base pumps are PRECIFLOW peristaltic pumps.

LAMBDA acid and base pumps can be remote controlled over the whole speed range for automated pH control:

  • Using PID controller or directly by analog signal;
  • By in-built precision regulation of LAMBDA MINIFOR fermentor-bioreactor;
  • As a peripheral device by other third-party laboratory bioreactors or fermenters.

During dosing of acid or base liquid to attain the preset pH value, peristaltic pump dispenses the liquid automatically over its whole speed range. For example, the acid / base pump reduces the speed as the preset pH value is being attained.

pH regulation by analog remote control of LAMBDA pumps

LAMBDA acid pump and/or base pump can be used together with, for example: Mettler pH probe and its controller to maintain the pH constant (pH-stat). The LAMBDA acid and base pumps can be controlled by the pH-stat via analog remote control signal.

Additional information about analog remote control of LAMBDA dosing pumps could be found at www.lambda-instruments.com/peristaltic-pumps/user-manual/10-technical-specifications/#remote-control-inputs-outputs.

LAMBDA acid and base pumps with bioreactor or fermenter

In USP laboratory (upstream processing), the peristaltic pump are directly connected to the bioreactor. The laboratory fermenter regulates the pH automatically with the help of base and / or acid pump.

For automatic pH control by LAMBDA PRECIFLOW pump, the pumps are simply plugged to the bioreactor MINIFOR. The software for pH-stat and pH probe is included in the MINIFOR basic start-up kit.

LAMBDA acid and base dosing pumps can be controlled as a peripheral device by other third-party laboratory bioreactors or fermenters digitally from computer via RS-interface (e.g. using LABVIEW).

The acid and base pumps has to be equipped with RS-485 or RS-232 interface for the digital remote control from the PC software.
